I found myself noticing things about the scoring, both times. Odd because I really haven't paid too much attention to the scoring in the past. For "Salvador," the score seemed overblown, at times trying to sound too big with too few instruments.
"Bullitt," on the other hand was very spare. There weren't blaring music cues during the action. In fact, during the car chase which supposedly birthed all the modern car chases from then on, there was no score at all, just the sound of the engines.
