Johns, Part II

The mini-show at the in-store was lots of fun. I got there plenty early, before I even expected to see the band there, and plenty of people were already sitting near the little stage. I shopped around a little bit, then, saw this guy with a shoulder bag and glasses and though, that guy's gotta be a fan, he even looks a bit like... Then I did a double-take and realized, yes, that is Flansburgh...

The show was cool about six or seven songs (I didn't keep track). They did a version of "Robot Parade" much closer to the album version, complete with vocal effects, than last night. Last night was a full-on punky version that rocked the house, but this time there were very small children in the front row, waving happily to the Johns. They also did a countrified version of "Boss of Me."

Too bad I can't really afford to go to the show tonight as well. Even if I decided to screw the budget, of course, it is now under way, and the drive from Waconia is just a bit too long...
