Saturday I slept in. Eventually, around 2 or so I showered and went round to my folks' house. They were out when I got there, so I sat and channel-surfed. Despite not having a TV for over a year, I found that I am still good at it. Eventually they got home, and we went out for dinner. This year I chose Punch Woodfire Pizza, over on Cleveland Ave. They had never eaten there before, and I think it was a hit with them.
When we got back to their house, I opened the gifts they had got me. A gift card for Best Buy. A gift card from Gander Mountain. A book which explains the origins of common phrases and cliches. That last was a subject I have had a passing interest in for a while. Then it was time for the red cake. It is better known to the world at large as "Waldorf Cake," but it will always be just red cake to me, as it has been all along.
When I left, they sent with me some leftover pizza, a fair quantity of cake, and also a $10 Blockbuster Video gift card someone had given my Mom that she said she would never get around to using. So on my way home, I stopped at Blockbuster. I never really rent movies either, so I browsed their previously viewed section and wound up buying a copy of K-PAX.
