So what we're really looking at tonight is the complex interplay of moods...

I write because there are oh-so-many interplays and clever exchanges in dialogue that one can't help but grin at the subtleties of the scene, even when the tone is not strictly humorous.

The moods I intend to meld are humor, wonder, adventure, fear, and if I get really lucky some manner of face-blanching horror. The funny bits happen in their own place, of course, but I need to find it in me to bring those same wise-cracking fellas into the scary bits, where a clever bit of phrase and a double-edged axe will get them out of the mess...
