Baja Fresh

Some friends suggested we meet there this weekend, so we scouted it out ahead of time. It shares the "Baja" part of its name and the concept with the lackluster "Baja Tortilla Grill," (which is changing its name gradually to Baja Sol, apparently). All these "Baja's" were a bit confusing, and we thought the "Tortilla Grill" was what they were talking about. This store, however is apparently the first in Minnesota of a chain that has been slowly conquering the rest of the country.

The food was excellent, they had about six bottled beers to choose from. Not much for atmosphere, though. It was weird, there was a stone fountain & stone wall in the dining area, but fast food style for the service (order at the front counter, pickup when your name is called). The strangest part was the brilliance of the place. almost every surface was blazing white, and it was lit up, too, kind of like one of those high contrast eighties music videos where the band plays against a white cyc.

So, though odd, I'd probably go there again for the food...
